إدارة التحكيم تكرم خبراء «FIFA»

حرصت إدارة التحكيم بالاتحاد القطري لكرة القدم على تكريم الخبير والمحاضر الفني بالاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم، الماليزي صبح الدين محمد صالح، ومسؤول اللياقة البدنية بالاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم، الباراغوياني سيلفيو أوسمار، وذلك في ختام مشاركتهما في معسكر حكام النخبة المقام حالياً استعداداً لانطلاق الموسم الكروي الجديد.
وقام هاني بلان، رئيس لجنة الحكام بالاتحاد القطري لكرة القدم، بتقديم درع الاتحاد لكل من صبح الدين محمد صالح وسيلفيو أوسمار، تقديراً لجهودهما وما قدماه من محاضرات وبرامج تدريبية خلال فترة المعسكر، والتي أسهمت في تعزيز جاهزية الحكام القطريين ورفع مستوياتهم الفنية والبدنية قبل انطلاق منافسات الموسم الجديد.
ووجّه هاني بلان الشكر والتقدير للخبيرين الدوليين على مشاركتهما الفاعلة في المعسكر، وعلى ما بذلاه من جهود في نقل خبراتهما ومعارفهما للحكام القطريين، من خلال المحاضرات الفنية والتدريبات العملية، بما يعزز من عملية التطوير المستمر لمنظومة التحكيم في كرة القدم القطرية.

Doha, Qatar: Qatar Stars League champions Al Sadd retained the Al Ahrar Cup after defeating Algeria’s Mouloudia 2-0 at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium yesterday.

The final was intense, with both sides creating chances but neither able to break the deadlock in the first half. Al Sadd took the lead shortly after the restart when substitute Youssef Abdelrazak finished from a fine pass by Akram Afif.

Hassan Al Haydos then doubled Al Sadd’s advantage less than a minute after coming on, scoring with his first touch to help his side retain the trophy.

Al Sadd enjoyed the better of the second half, with a Roberto Firmino goal ruled out by VAR before the Brazilian saw his penalty saved by the Mouloudia goalkeeper.

Mouloudia, coached by Tunisia’s Khaled Ben Yahia, produced a strong performance and provided Al Sadd with a competitive test ahead of the new season in Qatar and Algeria.

The match was played in an enthusiastic atmosphere in front of 7,403 spectators.

New York: Millions of New Yorkers are expected to turn out for a heavily guarded victory parade Thursday for the city's Knicks basketball team after it won the NBA Finals at the weekend.

New York erupted in jubilant scenes Saturday when the Knicks broke a 53-year drought to defeat the San Antonio Spurs away in Texas.

Police said 10,000 officers would be on hand for the parade, the department's largest ever deployment for a planned event, with heavy weapons and explosives teams among them.

Attendees, who do not require a ticket, will be required to undergo security screening, with extensive restrictions on permitted items.

The parade, which kicks off at 1400 GMT, will see the Knicks travel from Bowling Green at the bottom of Manhattan to City Hall, a 10-block route known as the "Canyon of Heroes."

They will be showered with 2,500 pounds (1.1 tonnes) of recycled confetti, according to the city.

After the parade, New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani will award keys to the city to the victorious squad at City Hall.

"From packed watch parties in our parks to joyous celebrations that spilled out onto our streets, this championship belongs to New York City," said Mamdani.

'Empire State of Mind'

Typically the preserve of the city's "great and good," leftist Mamdani is giving away 600 tickets for the ceremony at City Hall to ordinary Big Apple residents.

"The Knicks brought together New Yorkers from every borough and every walk of life. That's why we're making these tickets free and accessible -- so working-class people have a chance to be part of this historic moment and celebrate the team that brought a championship home," he added.

Crowds at the City Hall event will be treated to an all-star show, team owner James Dolan told local media.

"We have everybody from Walt Clyde Frazier from the old team to the new team, the Knicks City Dancers, there's like five marching bands," he said, adding that Grammy winner Alicia Keys will sing "Empire State of Mind" -- the smash hit she recorded with Jay-Z in 2009.

Ticker-tape parades trace their origins to the late 1800s with the first such celebration marking the dedication of the Statue of Liberty.

The city, already swarming with football fans for the World Cup, faces traffic chaos with a number of street closures enforced across Manhattan from late Wednesday.

Beirut: Qatar's men's beach volleyball team, represented by Mohammed Ehab and Mousa Al Khair, won the silver medal after finishing runners-up in the second and final round of the 2026 West Asia Beach Volleyball Championship in Batroun, Lebanon.

The Qatari duo defeated Kuwait 2-0 in the quarterfinals and Lebanon 2-0 in the semifinals before losing the final 2-1 to Lebanon's Jad Abi Karam and Hadi Shbeib, who claimed gold.

The achievement adds to Qatar's growing record of success in beach volleyball at the regional and continental levels.

وأوضحت الهيئة في بيان لها أنه لم ترصد آثار تذكر للتلوث في المواقع الأخرى، وفقا لنتائج الرصد لغاية الآن، مؤكدة عدم وصول أي تأثيرات ناتجة عن التلوث الزيتي إلى سواحل جزيرة مصيرة، التي يقع الجزء الجنوبي منها ضمن النطاق المحتمل تأثره.
وبشأن البقعة الزيتية المتسربة في البحر، تشير بيانات الرصد والنماذج المحدثة إلى أنها لا تزال تتحرك ضمن مسارها المرصود في عرض البحر باتجاه جنوب شرق ولاية مصيرة نحو أعالي البحر، مع استمرار متابعة حركتها وفق المتغيرات البحرية والجوية.
وتواصل هيئة البيئة، بالتنسيق مع الجهات المعنية، أعمال الرصد والاستجابة الميدانية وتقييم المستجدات، واتخاذ الإجراءات اللازمة للحد من الآثار البيئية وحماية البيئة البحرية والساحلية.
وكانت الهيئة قد أعلنت يوم الأربعاء الماضي أن تداعيات حادثة السفينة النفطية كارولين بيزنجي الجانحة بالقرب من جزيرة القبلية بمحافظة ظفار قد تؤدي إلى تأثر شواطئ رأس مدركة بالتلوث الزيتي بنطاق يصل إلى 40 كيلومترا، مع احتمال تأثر الشواطئ الجنوبية لجزيرة مصيرة بنطاق يتراوح بين 10 و20 كيلومترا.
