QORC: Lane, Al Suwaidi shine in opening round

Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation organised Survival 1, the opening round of the 2026 Qatar Off Road Championship (QORC), in the challenging dunes of Sealine. The event featured a strong entry list of 42 competitors representing Qatar and several other nationalities, delivering an exciting and competitive start to the season.

The demanding terrain tested both skill and endurance, producing intense competition across all classes. In Class 1, Ethan Lane secured first place with an outstanding performance and was also the Challenger category winner in his class. In Class 2, Mansour Al Suwaidi claimed first place after a strong and consistent drive. Khalifa Al Bastaki secured second place and was also the Challenger category winner in his class, while Ali Al Marzouqi completed the podium in third position. The Veteran Class 2 was won by Mohammed Al Shamsi. The trophies were presented to the winners by Amro Al-Hamad, Executive Director of QMMF, alongside Pedro Almeida, Clerk of the Course. The championship continues next week with Round 2 of the Qatar Off Road Championship, Baja 1 for cars and motorcycles, scheduled to take place on 25 April 2026.

ويعول الأهلي على مجموعة من اللاعبين البارزين في صفوفه، على غرار عمر سيكو، والإسباني إريك هيرنانديز، إضافة إلى الهولندي ميشيل فلاب، والألماني يوليان دراكسلر، إذ يمثل الرباعي القوة الهجومية الضاربة في الفريق.
وعلى الجانب الآخر، تمكن الحسين اربد الأردني من بلوغ الدور ربع النهائي على حساب الاستقلال الإيراني، بمجموع المباراتين (4-2)، بالفوز ذهابا بهدف نظيف، وإيابا بثلاثة أهداف مقابل هدفين.
وفي مرحلة المجموعات، تصدر الفريق الأردني مجموعته الثالثة برصيد 9 نقاط، بعد تحقيق ثلاثة انتصارات وخسارة واحدة.



يونس علي:تلعب على جزئيات بسيطة

أكد يونس علي مدرب الأهلي تطلع فريقه للفوز والعبور لنصف النهائي في مواجهة الحسين إربد الأردني وقال «الأهلي سيواجه فريقا قويا ومميزا في نتائجه بالبطولة القارية والدوري الأردني، وقد تابعه جيدا ويعرف مدى قوته كمنافس لذلك أعد فريقه ليكون في أفضل مستوى بدني وذهني لخوض المباراة. وأوضح المدرب أن فريقه سيخوض مباراة حاسمة، تتطلب أعلى بذل جهد مضاعف، وتختلف عن المرحلة السابقة التي كانت بنظام الذهاب والإياب، لذلك يجب أن يكون التركيز فيها حاضرا طيلة الوقت من أجل الحصول على بطاقة العبور. وشدد المدرب على احترامه الكامل للمنافس فريق الحسين، مشيرا إلى أن اللقاء لن يكون سهلا أمامه، وهو فريق قوي ويتميز بالكثير من الجوانب الفنية الجيدة خصوصا في الكرات الثابتة لذلك أعد فريقه جيدا لهذه المباراة. وأشار يونس علي إلى أن مثل هذه المباريات تلعب على جزئيات صغيرة، ولا مجال فيها للتعويض، معربا عن ثقته في قدرة لاعبيه على الظهور بمستوى مميز في المباراة وتحقيق النتيجة المرجوة.

For Al Ahli, this is it. A difficult domestic campaign that will end in the bottom half of the Qatar Stars League leaves continental success as their only route to salvage pride.

Yet their Asian run tells a different story – composed efficient, and resilient. They topped Group B with 10 points, then edged Iran’s Sepahan 3-2 on aggregate in the Round of 16, showing the grit required for knockout football. Now comes their toughest test.

Al Hussein arrive with momentum and belief. The Jordanian side are firmly in the domestic title race—level on points with Al Faisaly but holding a game in hand and have mirrored that consistency in Asia.
