Mercato : Ben Idder officialisé à Nice sur le fil du rasoir !
L’OGC Nice a réalisé un nouveau joli coup sur le marché algérien. Après avoir officialisé lundi l’arrivée de Mohamed Amoura en provenance de Wolfsburg, le club azuréen a annoncé ce mardi soir le recrutement d’Abdelhak Ben Idder. Le jeune défenseur central du Paradou AC rejoint ainsi les Aiglons au terme d’un dossier bouclé dans les toutes dernières heures du mercato estival.

Oom Daan backs Brannas
Springbok scrum coach Daan Human believes the experienced Deon Fourie is ideally suited to high-pressure Tests against the All Blacks. SIMON BORCHARDT reports. slot-chickenroad.org
Recalled to the Bok squad after an impressive performance for the Stormers against the All Blacks in the opening match of the Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry tour, the veteran openside flank was selected on the bench as a hooker for the second Test in Cape Town. However, he ended up starting after coach Rassie Erasmus swapped his starting and replacement front rows shortly before kick-off.
At 39 years and 338 days old, Fourie became the oldest Springbok when he ran out at Cape Town Stadium.
It was his first appearance in the green and gold since the 2023 World Cup final against the All Blacks in Paris, when he played 77 minutes off the bench at hooker.
Fourie got 35 minutes in the Boks’ 33-26 win in Cape Town before making way for Malcolm Marx.
“He was awesome. I thought he brought so much to the team,” Erasmus said afterwards.

Fourie, who turns 40 on 25 September, has again been named on the bench as a hooker for Saturday’s third Test at FNB Stadium.
Human believes Fourie’s versatility and experience make him particularly valuable in the intensity of a Test series against the All Blacks.
“The thing about him is, although he hasn’t played a lot of Test matches in his life [14], he’s not 40 yet, he’s 39. I’m just saying, there’s still a long way to go!” Human told the media on Tuesday with a laugh.
“But anyway, I think in these Test matches we need to have a lot of experience, which he has.
“He played from a very young age at hooker and flank. So he’s able to handle these kinds of situations, like he did in the World Cup final for us.
“He’s on form, he’s a big, big competitor and he’s one of the strongest scrummagers in South Africa.
“That’s how highly I rate him. Otherwise I would never have put up my hand to say, ‘Listen, we should pick this guy.'”
DAAN: Boks don’t want to walk around scrum
Human was also excited about playing in front of a massive crowd at the 94,000-capacity FNB Stadium, with 84,000 tickets having reportedly been sold by Monday.
“I think it will be wonderful for South Africa, for all the South African support that we have at the moment.
“Obviously, we don’t want to disappoint them because they’re really standing behind us, and we need to give it back to them.
“I actually thought on my way down here, what is that country in the soccer World Cup that shouts, ‘Row! Row!’? [Norway.] I would actually love [the Bok fans] to say, “Scrum! Scrum!”’

Gabriel Jesus débarque au FC Barcelone
Le FC Barcelone tient son nouveau numéro 9. Le club catalan a officialisé l’arrivée de Gabriel Jesus en provenance d’Arsenal, pour une opération estimée à près de 11 millions d’euros. À 29 ans, l’attaquant brésilien s’est engagé jusqu’en juin 2029 et débarque en Catalogne avec une double mission : offrir une nouvelle solution offensive à Hansi Flick et relancer une carrière freinée ces dernières saisons par les blessures et un temps de jeu réduit.
Le Barça a finalement choisi l’expérience plutôt que le grand investissement espéré au départ. Longtemps intéressé par Julián Álvarez, le club catalan n’a pas réussi à concrétiser cette piste et s’est tourné vers un profil nettement plus accessible financièrement. Gabriel Jesus présente surtout l’avantage d’être polyvalent : capable d’évoluer dans l’axe, de décrocher pour participer au jeu ou de se déplacer sur les côtés, il offre à Flick davantage de possibilités dans l’animation offensive. Avec Arsenal, le Brésilien a néanmoins vécu une dernière saison compliquée, marquée par un temps de jeu limité et seulement trois titularisations en Premier League.
Un nouveau départ pour Gabriel Jesus
Après quatre années à Londres, le Brésilien ouvre donc un nouveau chapitre dans sa carrière. Son passage chez les Gunners avait pourtant commencé avec de belles promesses, avant que les problèmes physiques ne viennent progressivement perturber sa trajectoire. Au Barça, Jesus espère retrouver la régularité qui lui permettra de redevenir un attaquant majeur. Lors de sa présentation, il a d’ailleurs expliqué avoir accepté une baisse de salaire pour rejoindre le club catalan, preuve de l’importance qu’il accorde à cette opportunité.
Et le principal intéressé refuse déjà l’étiquette de simple plan B. Interrogé sur le fait d’avoir été recruté après l’échec de la piste Julián Álvarez, Gabriel Jesus s’est montré catégorique : ce qui l’importe n’est pas le statut qui lui est attribué, mais la possibilité de jouer et de prouver sa valeur. Le Barça tient donc un renfort expérimenté pour environ 10 millions d’euros, tandis que le Brésilien dispose d’une scène idéale pour se relancer. À lui désormais de transformer un transfert présenté comme une solution alternative en véritable renaissance sous le maillot blaugrana.

Pape Matar Sarr s’engage officiellement avec la Juventus
La Juventus renforce son milieu de terrain avec l’arrivée de Pape Matar Sarr. Le club turinois a officialisé ce mardi le recrutement de l’international sénégalais, en provenance de Tottenham.
Le joueur de 23 ans rejoint la Vieille Dame sous la forme d’un prêt jusqu’au 30 juin 2027, pour un montant de 2,5 millions d’euros, auquel s’ajoutent 300 000 euros de frais annexes.
L’accord entre les deux clubs prévoit également une possible arrivée définitive du Sénégalais. Une clause de 27,5 millions d’euros a été intégrée à l’opération, avec un paiement prévu sur trois exercices.
La levée définitive de cette option est toutefois soumise à certaines conditions, notamment liées au temps de jeu du joueur et à une éventuelle qualification européenne de la Juventus.
Après plusieurs saisons en Premier League sous le maillot de Tottenham, Pape Matar Sarr s’apprête donc à relever un nouveau défi en Italie. Passé auparavant par le FC Metz, le milieu sénégalais s’est progressivement fait une place chez les Spurs et a dépassé la barre des 100 rencontres dans le championnat anglais. À Turin, il apportera sa mobilité, son volume de jeu et sa polyvalence au milieu de terrain.

Bulls take tradition into tomorrow
The Vodacom Bulls away kit for the 2026-27 season was revealed on Tuesday.
The “Tradition into Tomorrow” kit, featuring distinctive teal and navy colourways, is inspired by iconic 1990s sporting apparel which featured a striking combination of bold colours and geometric shapes.
According to kit manufacturers Puma, the design graphic on the kit transforms into flowing organic patterns that express a fluidity of movement, while the retro-futuristic design captures the team’s proud legacy, dynamism and commitment to pushing boundaries on and off the pitch.
The design carries over onto the replica training jerseys available to fans in either light blue and yellow or in navy and pink – the later look echoes the iconic pink Bulls jersey in 2012.
