The Nagoya City Inae Sports Center in Minato Ward will host wrestling at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games. Located inside Inae Park, the multipurpose indoor facility is an important sporting hub for the local community and already has experience hosting a range of competitive events.
A multipurpose sporting hub
The centre’s main First Arena has a floor area of around 1,650 square metres and can accommodate more than 3,000 spectators, including 2,232 fixed seats and additional arena-floor seating.
The facility also has a Second Arena with more than 130 seats, an archery practice range, light exercise room, training gym and meeting spaces.
Wrestling in focus
The Inae Sports Center will take on an important role when it welcomes wrestlers from across Asia for the 2026 Asian Games.
While the main arena has traditionally been used for sports such as basketball, volleyball, badminton and handball, its large indoor floor allows it to be adapted for different sporting competitions.
The venue will also be part of the sporting programme for the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games, hosting para fencing.
Nagoya’s coastal side
The sports centre is located in Minato Ward, one of Nagoya’s coastal areas.
Inae Park is also close to the Shonai River and the Fujimae Tidal Flat, giving the area a different experience from Nagoya’s busy city centre.
Nagoya itself has a rich history as a castle town and later developed into one of Japan’s major industrial centres. The city is also famous for its distinctive food culture, Nagoya Meshi, including miso-katsu, tebasaki and hitsumabushi.
A regular sporting venue
Outside major international competitions, the Inae Sports Center serves the local sporting community. It hosts school and corporate tournaments, club competitions and recreational activities.
The venue has also been used by professional basketball teams, including the Fighting Eagles Nagoya as a secondary home venue, while Japan’s top women’s basketball league has also staged matches here.
Ready for Aichi-Nagoya 2026
With its spacious main arena and flexible facilities, the Nagoya City Inae Sports Center is ready for its biggest sporting assignment yet. For Aichi-Nagoya 2026, the community sports hub will become a stage for elite wrestling as athletes from across Asia compete for medals in Nagoya.
How to reach the venue
The Nagoya City Inae Sports Center can easily be reached by train and bus. Public transport is recommended during the Asian Games due to road and parking restrictions around the venue.
By train: Take the Aonami Line from Nagoya Station to Inae Station or Noseki Station.
By bus: Take the Kan-Meieki 2 bus from Nagoya Station towards Noseki Station and get off at Noseki Shogakko. The sports centre is a five-minute walk from the stop.
