"I'll be with you wherever you are": SKY's wife leaves him a b'day message
Suryakumar Yadav's wife Devisha wished the Indian T20 World Cup on his 36th birthday, penning down a heartwarming note for him on social media.
Suryakumar, India's two-time T20 World Cup champion and one of the trailblazers of modern T20I batting for India, turned 36 on Monday.
Taking to Instagram, Devisha posted, "Happy happy birthday to my home, my heart! As the lyrics say, I'll be with you wherever you are" forestarrow.help
Suryakumar has achieved several milestones in his career, including winning the ICC Men's T20I Cricketer of the Year award in 2022 and 2023.
The former India T20I captain reached the No 1 position in the ICC Men's T20I Batting Rankings in October 2022 and registered 910 rating points in January 2023, among the highest-ever ratings recorded in the format.
The right-handed batter played a key role in India's ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 triumph with a title-sealing catch of David Miller in the final against South Africa being his crowning moment, and later led the team to the 2026 T20 World Cup title as a captain, making India the first side to successfully defend the title. Under his captaincy, India also won the T20 Asia Cup 2025 in the UAE.
Suryakumar has been one of India's most influential batters, known for his innovative stroke play and aggressive approach. In 113 T20Is, he has made 3,272 runs at an average of 36.35, with a strike rate of 162.94. His runs include four centuries and 25 fifties and he is India's third-highest run-getter in the format.
He has also represented India in 37 ODIs, scoring 773 runs at an average of 25.76, with a strike rate of 105.02, with four fifties and best score of 72*. In his only Test, Suryakumar batted for only one inning, scoring eight runs against Australia back in 2023.
'SKY' has also been a multi-time Indian Premier League (IPL) winner with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Mumbai Indians (MI) and is among the most notable batters in the competition with 4,581 runs in 179 matches and 164 innings at an average of 33.68 and a strike rate of 148.58, with two centuries and 31 fifties and best score of 103*.
IND vs AFG 2026 Live Streaming Info, 2nd T20 Match at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi: When, Where, How to Watch India Vs Afghanistan Live Score, TV Telecast Online
IND vs AFG 2026 2nd T20: Shreyas Iyer’s Team India will look to seal their second successive T20I series win when they take on Afghanistan in the second game of three-match series at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Tuesday. The ‘visitors’ already began their campaign with a dominant seven-wicket win in the first T20I on Sunday.
Opener Abhishek Sharma was the star of the win on Sunday night with a 22-ball fifty en route to smashing 82 with 7 sixes to chase down the 157-run target with ease. The T20 World Cup 2026 champions endured back-to-back T20I series losses against Ireland and England earlier this year but have bounced back with a 3-0 whitewash against Zimbabwe in July.
Ibrahim Zadran’s Afghanistan have never defeated India in the T20I format of the game, suffering their 9th loss in 10 matches with one game at Asian Games 2023 washed out due to rain. The ‘home team’ in New Delhi will be desperate to bounce back with a win to keep their hopes alive of winning this series.
One major area of concern will be India’s fifth bowler in the absence of injured all-rounder Hardik Pandya. Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Shivam Dube combined to fulfill this role but proved to be expensive in the first game.
Indians will once again bank on the Sunrisers Hyderabad duo of Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan to fire in unison to seal the series in their favour. “You know, as a professional, I think when it changes, we just have to adapt as soon as possible. We need to get into that zone again and again because this is not the first time we are doing this. We keep on playing different formats and then we come back to T20 cricket, yeah, it takes a bit of time to get along with the game sometimes, but at the same time, you know, you need to be just calm and composed in the middle so that you get the best out of yourself,” said Kishan, who scored 42 in 33 balls in the 1st T20, in a video posted by BCCI.

It was our collective decision: BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla on Asia Cup tr
BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla on Monday said Indian women team's refusal to accept the Asia Cup trophy from Mohsin Naqvi was Board's "collective decision" and the Asian Cricket Council chairman also "did not raise any objection" to it.
India defeated Sri Lanka by 72 runs in the final on Sunday in Dubai but did not accept the trophy from Naqvi, continuing a trend started by the men's team during the 2025 Asia Cup following last year's Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people.
"We discussed the matter among ourselves and decided that we would not accept it (trophy) from him. It was our collective decision. He (Naqvi) also did not raise any objection to it," Shukla told reporters after arriving at the Indira Gandhi International Airport with the team.
"We informed our team accordingly, and he presented it to whoever he had to and then left," Shukla added.
The veteran administrator's words mirrored the stance of BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia.
"We had taken a conscious decision considering all prevailing aspects, and our position had been communicated to the ACC in advance, that the Indian team would not participate in the trophy presentation under the circumstances," Saikia had told PTI earlier.
Some images had surfaced earlier of Saikia talking to Naqvi during the Asia Cup final but Shukla said it was a mere "routine interaction."
"What Saikia ji said is absolutely correct. When you are at a match, everyone is present there and interacts in a professional capacity.
Therefore, I do not think there should be so much criticism over that," he said.
Shukla also congratulated the team on the Asia Cup triumph, and expressed confidence in the team doing well in the upcoming Asian Games in Japan.
"We became Asia Cup champions. Our women have once again made us proud and we will continue to win in the future.
"The team is now heading to Japan and we are fully confident that we will secure a victory there as well," he said.
